Festive Family & Dog Photos at Templars Square
We’re welcoming families, including dogs, to a special Christmas photo event here at Templars Square.
We’re bringing festive cheer to the community with the return of our much-loved illuminated angel wings display, now offering free professional portraits for families and their four-legged companions.
On Sunday 30 November, between 11am and 3pm, we’re inviting visitors to enjoy a complimentary professional photo in front of the angel wings. For the first time in our 60-year history, we’re welcoming dogs to join in, making it a truly inclusive family experience.
The angel wings have long been a favourite backdrop for festive selfies and family portraits. This year, they hold extra significance as the centre honours the friend and daughter of the two women who first brought the idea to life.
Louise Fairnie from Creation Christmas, who introduced the wings as a tribute to her friend Abby Price, shared: “The Angel Wings were installed as a surprise for Abby’s friends and family, to celebrate her spirit, her strength and the joy she brought to everyone around her. She loved Templars Square, so it felt like the perfect place to honour her.”
Abby’s mother, Maria Bartlett, added: “It means a lot to see the wings return each year. They’re a beautiful reminder of Abby, and it’s wonderful to see how much happiness they bring to families who visit.”
Carla, Centre Manager at Templars Square, said: “The Angel Wings are one of our most cherished festive displays. We’re excited to welcome shoppers and their dogs for a free professional family portrait, all while helping raise funds for Oxford Hospitals Charity.”
Visitors are invited to make a voluntary donation to Oxford Hospitals Charity when collecting their professional keepsake photo. Find out more about Abby, with words from her family here.
