Pre-loved school uniform pop-up shop success
Templars Square is celebrating the success of their recent pre-loved school uniform pop-up shop, which opened at the end of August before schools went back and received an overwhelmingly positive response from the local community.
In total, 187 items of uniform were donated by the community, and the number is still growing as donations continue to come in. Over the course of the seven-day pop-up, 169 items were rehomed to families in need, helping ease the strain of back-to-school costs, while also giving good quality clothing a second life and reducing waste.
Supported by local charity Small Steps, the initiative was a true community effort. A centre spokesperson said: “We’re so grateful for everyone who supported this initiative, whether by donating, volunteering, or collecting items. The demand clearly shows how important this service is for local families, and we’re delighted to announce we will open the store again during October half term.”
The centre will continue to accept donations to help stock the October pop-up. Clean, pre-loved uniform items can be dropped directly at the management suite.
