Our Honesty Book Library is now open!

As part of our World Book Day celebrations we’re delighted to have launched an honesty book library with support from literacy charity Assisted Reading for Children in Oxfordshire (ARCh). 

The large book-shaped library will take pride of place inside Templars Square, come along and sit and read a book or take one home. Please also consider donating your preloved books for adults and children, helping to keep the library well stocked.

In preparation for the launch, we received several book donations, with ARCh contributing the first 60 books to mark our 60^th anniversary year.

Suzanne Tanner, Marketing Co-Ordinator at Templars Square said: “We’re delighted to launch our new honesty book library on World Book Day. It’s a fantastic community asset that encourages everyone to embrace the joy of reading.

“We’ve been working with ARCh since last year and it was wonderful to have them involved in this initiative.

“Whether you’re looking to discover a new story or share a book, we welcome shoppers to take a book, bring it back, or return another one in its place for others to enjoy.”

Emma Orton, Recruitment Officer, at ARCh Oxfordshire adds: “One of ARCh’s core aims is to foster a love of reading and we’re thrilled to support the launch of this book library.

“Templars Square is a fantastic supporter of our assisted reading programme at Rose Hill Primary School, and we work with lots of other schools in the area, so being part of this local literacy initiative is wonderful”.
