International Women’s Day Celebrations

This International Women’s Day, we’re celebrating the incredible women of Templars Square!

We caught up with Sandy, owner of Boutique Hair and Beauty to chat about her experiences – from salon manager in 2010 to business owner in 2016, her journey is truly inspiring.

Sandy’s advice? ‘Have faith and confidence in yourself.’

How long have you been at Templars Square?
I started in the salon as a manager in 2010. The owner at the time was very supportive of working reduced hours so I could balance working with family commitments. In 2016 I bought the salon and I am now my own boss.

What advice would you give your younger self?
Always have a plan and work hard. Remember work life balance is important and don’t be too hard on yourself.

Do you have a top tip to other women starting out in business?
Do your research and know your key audience. Have faith and confidence in yourself and remember for all the downs, there a generally far more ups.

What are your career highlights?
I have thoroughly enjoyed my career and owning my own business. I love meeting new and old customers and getting to know people individually. I also love getting to know my team and having good working relationships and like the fact that we are always learning.
