Bleed Kits Installed at Templars Square

Life-saving Bleed Kits have been installed in Oxford for the first time, including one outside Templars Square.

This initiative is a partnership between Oxford City Council, Thames Valley Police, and local resident Claire Nelson, who last year created Motherhood, a powerful show about the impact of knife crime on parents.

The Bleed Kits to help treat severe bleeding in emergencies before paramedics arrive.

Each kit contains first aid equipment, such as tourniquets, gauze and gloves. Like defibrillators, the bleed kits are stored in secure cabinets with emergency call handlers provide the key code access to the cabinets when needed.

This is part of a wider effort to make local communities safer and ensure people have access to life-saving first aid when they need it most.
